What is Two Factor Authentication (2FA)?

Two Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security mechanism to enhance the security level of user authentication by using one more factor. Traditionally, 2FA uses two out of three types of factors before accessing the services. The three types are:
1) Something you know, such as password or passphase
2) Something you have, such as phone or token
3) Something you are, such as biometric like a fingerprint or voice print


What is One-Time Password (OTP)?

One-Time Password is the second authentication method of 2FA service. VTC staff can receive One-Time Password for authentication by Mobile Application or SMS message.


Which services have been applied OTP?

Under the current plan, OTP is applied to the following VTC applications:
1) VTC@Work from External Access
2) ESS from External Access
3) Telephone Directory from External Access
4) VTC Google Search from External Access
5) Payroll System Enquiry from External Access
6) VTC Microsoft OneDrive from External Access
7) VTC Staff Webmail from External Access
